BURNED WOOD

Accoya

Burned Wood Accoya is the most durable Burned Wood variant, with Accoya forming the basis. Made from the fast-growing radiata pine wood species, this pressure-treated type of wood has the highest attainable Class 1 durability class. The Burned Wood preservation process, the controlled surface burning, creates a beautiful, deep-black charred layer with a distinctive craquelure. The charred layer is UV resistant, low-maintenance and barely stains, which makes it the best option for use in Dutch weather conditions. Opting to apply a sealer will harden the charred layer and prevent it from staining.

BURNED WOOD

Douglas

Burned Wood Douglas is made from 100% Dutch wood from the State Forestry and is felled in 100% FSC-certified forests. Douglas is a type of wood with a Class 3 durability class: untreated timber left exposed in the Dutch climate has an estimated service life of 10 to 15 years. The surface-burning process produces a beautiful charred layer, resulting in a different pattern for each wooden board and a wonderful shine in the sun. The Burned Wood preservation process increases the durability and extends the service life. The resulting charred layer is UV resistant, low-maintenance and has a beautiful, deep black colour. The charred layer will age over time and form a beautiful patina. The charred layer of Burned Wood Douglas is brittle, so specific detailing and/or finish is required when used in frequently-touched places or exposed to the elements. A sealing finish will harden the charred layer and prevent it from staining.
BURNED WOOD

Douglas - brushed

The Burned Wood Douglas brushed is made from 100% Dutch wood from the State Forestry that is felled in 100% FSC-certified forests. After the Burned Wood preservation process, the surface burning, the charred layer is brushed off. This really brings out the wood grain patterns and a relief, as well as a beautiful colour contrast. The Burned Wood Douglas brushed can be finished with a (transparent) three-component and three-layer system based on nanotechnology. This completely ecological and very sustainable system protects the wood against UV radiation, fungi and weathering, making Burned Wood water-repellent and allowing the wood to retain its colour for longer. This three-layer system will last for as long as 10 to 15 years. The Burned Wood's colour will initially be richer and darker thanks to this treatment, but it will gradually lighten over time due to weather exposure.

BURNED WOOD

Douglas - brushed, stained

Burned Wood Douglas brushed stained is made from 100% Dutch wood from the State Forestry that is felled in 100% FSC-certified forests. After the Burned Wood preservation process, the surface burning, the charred layer is brushed off. This really brings out the wood grain patterns and relief. The Burned Wood is then entirely treated with a natural black stain, with its exposed side receiving two layers. The burning process and the stain treatment preserve the Burned Wood and protect it against UV radiation, fungi and weathering. The Burned Wood stain treatment is completely ecological and retains the colour for a long time. The stain is available in all NCS or RAL colours.
