DESCRIPTION

The new sustainable fire station in Surhuisterveen is one of the 3 nominees for 'Most Sustainable Project' in the Netherlands at the Cobouw awards 2019

The new fire station was built to be as circular and sustainable as possible. The circular blueprint that was made by JOUS Architects is easy to scale up. This is the first completed fire station in a series and it has already received an award nomination. The building is demountable and many materials are sustainable, including Burned Wood. The facade is made from brushed Burned Wood Douglas. Burned Wood Accoya has been used for the window frames and door frames of the entrance.
